Agile Product Lifecycle Management Integration Pack for Oracle E-Business Suite - Version 2.5 to 2.5 [Release 2.5] Information in this document applies to any platform.
This document is an example for referential purposes on how a customer could extend Agile PLM/E-Business Suite AIA PIP to use TEMPLATE_NAME information when creating items in E-Business Suite using ECO functionality.
According to the out-of-box code the E-Business ProviderABC already maps the TEMPLATE_NAME from EBM to E-Business Suite ABM.
TEMPLATE_NAME is not a field that exist in Agile and therefore the out-of-box transformation does not map any field from Agile ABM to the EBM. As such is necessary to extend the PIP for this mapping. This document describes the process, and provides and example on how to extend the PIP for this purpose.
When you map the TEMPLATE_NAME to the EBM, the ECO creation process will create the new items using the template as specified. The usage of a template to create items in E-Business Suite basically implies that several of the items attributes will be set by default as per the value defined in the template.
When the template in use also defaults values for the "Item Defining Attributes" associated to the different functional areas, then the API that creates the items will automatically assign the default category set, and the default category for the item.
As such this sample extension to include the TEMPLATE_NAME for the parts in Agile will also help to automatically assign the category set and categories for the items that are created via the ECO process.
For more information on "Item Dening Attributes" please inspect the Oracle Inventory User's Guide section "Dening Default Category Sets" (11.5.10R12)
