Goal

The purpose of this document is to provide an example on how to use Agile Product Lifecycle Management Integration Pack for Oracle E-Business Suite and extend the TEMPLATE_NAME when creating items in E-Business Suite through ECO functionality.

The out-of-the-box code for E-Business ProviderABC currently provides a mapping for TEMPLATE_NAME from EBM to E-Business Suite ABM.

TEMPLATE_NAME in Agile, on the other hand, does not have a current mapping from Agile ABM to EBM.  Because of that, it is necessary to extend the PIP for proper mapping.

When mapping the TEMPLATE_NAME to EBM, the ECO process will create the new items as per the specified template.  This implies that the attributes will be set by default according to the value defined in the template.

The API that creates the items will automatically assign the default category set and the default category item.  This is assuming that the template used also defaults values for the Item Defining Attributes associated with the different functional areas.

This sample extension, which includes the TEMPLATE_NAME for the parts in Agile, will also help in the assignment of the category set and categories for items created through the ECO process.
