11g Grid Control: Testing Credentials the 'My Oracle Support' Times out if Proxy Details are not Configured for HTTPS Protocol (Doc ID 1114355.1)

Using Grid Control, when clicking on "My Oracle Support" tab, the page times out.

-  The <EM_INSTANCE_HOME>/sysman/log/emoms.trc shows:

-  The communication from the Grid Console to the My Oracle Support needs to go via a Proxy Server. The proxy server details have been entered in the Setup -> Patching Setup page and the 'Test' button for the 'Patch Search URL' works fine with these settings.
