Patch Applies With Bad Zipfile Offset (Doc ID 1154280.1)

Symptoms

Patch 9786002 is not applying correctly.*
It shows up properly in the lsinventory after application, but the application of the patch throws an interesting error:


Inventory check OK: Patch ID 9786002 is registered in Oracle Home inventory with proper meta-data.
Files check OK: Files from Patch ID 9786002 are present in Oracle Home.
Execution of 'sh /<PATH_TO>/oratemp/PSU_PATCHING/PSU4/9786002/9288120/custom/scripts/post -apply 9288120 ':

error [/OMS_ORACLE_HOME/jlib/uix2-install.zip]: missing 6525 bytes in zipfile
(attempting to process anyway)
error [/OMS_ORACLE_HOME/jlib/uix2-install.zip]: attempt to seek before beginning of zipfile
(please check that you have transferred or created the zipfile in the
appropriate BINARY mode and that you have compiled UnZip properly)
(attempting to re-compensate)
error: invalid compressed data to inflate ./cabo/styles/oracle-desktop.xss
file #747: bad zipfile offset (local header sig): 489071
(attempting to re-compensate)
file #747: bad zipfile offset (local header sig): 489071
file #748: bad zipfile offset (local header sig): 484007

The local system has been patched and can be restarted.
