EM 12c: Errors Concerning Enterprise Manager Agent are Filling log.xml and sqlnet.log: Directory does not exist for read/write [/opt/oracle/oemagent/agent11g/log] (Doc ID 1291286.1)

Symptoms

Enterprise Manager (EM) 11g Grid Control Agent is installed and it is not causing any issues. But these files:

/opt/oracle/home/oradiag_oracle/diag/clients/user_oracle/host_3237800233_11/alert/log.xml
/opt/oracle/home/oradiag_oracle/diag/clients/user_oracle/host_3046790652_11/trace/sqlnet.log

are filled up with the following error message:

Directory does not exist for read/write [/opt/oracle/oemagent/agent11g/log] [/opt/oracle/oemagent/agent11g/log/diag/clients]

 

Note: this symptom may also be observed with the 12c agent monitoring the Oracle database on MS Windows platforms.
