Symptoms


When using Java Diagnostics (JVMD) the Database wait link is not active.

Configuring the jam agent and JVMD for level 6 diagnostics the following error is shown in the log files.

Counter :No db agent running on IP=<IP ADD>.Returning null
Counter :Either there is no DB agent running on machine=<IP ADD> or there
is no registered databases with db host=<HOST>and whose sid/service
matches the values <SID> or <SERVICE NAME>
JAM ERROR:PoolMonitor pollJVMs(): could not get dbname from dburl
[jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=<HOST>)(PORT=<PORT>)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NA
ME=<SERVICE NAME>)))] Counter :Either there is no DB agent running
on machine=<IP ADD> or there is no registered databases with db
host=<HOST> and whose sid/service matches the values <SID> or <SERVICE NAME>

The database does exist at the indicated ip address and uses the provided sid or service name as displayed in the error.
