Purpose

The note provides a quick example using Perl to generate a text file in LDIF format from a simple LDAP search. 

Scope

This article is intended for LDAP administrators who work on migration strategies.

It assumes you have basic knowledge of LDAP, LDIF and PERL. It does not intend to cover all possibilites with PERL and LDAP but provides a starting point.
