Purpose

There are various different ways to add a database target in Enterprise Manager (EM) 12c and 13c Cloud Control. 
This document describes different methods to manually add a database target in EM 12c Cloud Control. 

Scope

This document is applicable for the EM 12c Cloud Control administrators monitoring database targets.

 Known Issues
 1.Validation Error
 
Solution: 
 2. The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
 
Solution: 
 3. If the Agent is not running on the target host where the Database to be added is located
 a. <hostname> - unable to connect to the agent at <agent URL> [Connection refused]
 
b. <hostname> - unable to connect to the agent at <agent URL> [No route to host]
 
c. <hostname> - unable to connect to the agent at <agent URL> [Failed to agree on an SSL cipher suite]
 
d. <hostname> - unable to connect to the agent at <agent URL> [peer not authenticated]
 e. <hostname> - agent key mismatch
 Solution: 
 4. Database discovery fails with Error occurred while deploying AGENT plug-in:null
 Solution:
 5. The target database is not displayed in the discovery phase
 Solution:
 6. Database discovery fails with  "Unable to find discovery home for plugin id:oracle.sysman.db"
