Purpose
This Document explains how to perform Automatic Discovery of Hosts using IP Scan method. Discovered hosts and data facilitate Agent Deployment, deeper discovery, and promotion of discovered targets.
Scope
Automatic Discovery identifies hosts and allows Grid Control Administrators to manage these hosts using Enterprise Manager.
The hosts that are discovered needs to have an Agent deployed and must be promoted as Enterprise Manager targets if you want Enterprise Manager to manage the targets.
