EM 12c, 13c: How to Change the Retention Period for Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Job History? (Doc ID 1389220.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 21, 2020

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version 12.1.0.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The Enterprise Manager default purge policy for jobs deletes all finished jobs that are older than 30 days. This value cannot be changed using Enterprise Manager, but it can be changed using SQL*Plus.

The details in this document is applicable only to the Job history seen in the Jobs tab in the Enterprise Manager and not to the Database-side scheduler jobs.

Note: The default purging policies have been designed to provide the most available data for analysis while still providing the best performance and disk-space requirements for the Management Repository. As a result, these should not be modified to improve performance or increase the available disk space. Increasing the retention time drastically can affect the performance of the Management Repository and have adverse reactions on the scalability of the Enterprise Manager installation.
