The 'DBMSNP' user shows a failed login attempt with ORA-1017 in the database audit trail at regular intervals. For example, the same time every night. In the database the 'DBSNMP' user's password is set correctly for the database which is monitored via Cloud Control. This can be checked from:-
Database Home Page/Expand 'Oracle Database' menu (underneath database name on home page)
Target Setup/Monitoring Configuration
Click on "Test Connection"
Shows "The connection test was successful"
The invalid login attempt will also be recorded when issuing the command "run discovery now" from:
- setup/add target/configure auto discovery
- select "all discovery modules" and click on "configure auto discovery" (spanner icon)
- Highlight the host (where the database exists, which is showing 'invalid logins'
- click on "run discovery now"
When auditing is enabled on the database, the audit trail can be queried using:-
