Named Credential Authentication Fails With INVALID_CRED_OBJECT If Created With EMCLI (Doc ID 1517285.1)

Symptoms

Named credentials are not working as expected in the console if created with the emcli command:

[oracle@em12cc bin]$ ./emcli create_named_credential -cred_name=Test_Testdb -auth_target_type="oracle_database" -cred_type="DBCreds" -cred_scope="instance" -target_type="oracle_database" -target_name="<Target_DB_Name>" -attributes="DBUserName:SYSTEM;DBPassword:<SYSTEM_PASSWORD>"
Credential TEST_TESTDB created.

 

Using the credential in the console fails with:

java.lang.Exception: INVALID_CRED_OBJECT

 

emoms.trc shows following java error stack.
