EM 13c,12c: How to Disable Autodiscovery of Clusterware managed targets like Listeners, ASM or DB Iinstances (Doc ID 1522674.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 19, 2022

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager for Oracle Database - Version 11.1.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When monitoring a cluster with Enterprise Manager, the resources managed by the clusterware such as listeners, instances and ASM will be automatically discovered and re-added as managed targets with no user intervention after the targets were intentionally removed by the user.

Also, it may be the case that the specific targets are re-added with a new name and the same physical resource may be added once more with the default name. How to prevent this behavior?

NOTE: the default behavior of automatically adding for monitoring specific targets like ASM, RAC instances and cluster managed listeners was intended to reduce additional work of EM administrators to manually add the new resources from cluster to be monitored in EM as well. If for any reason this behaviour is not wanted/required, the below steps should be used.
