My Oracle Support Not Accessible When Using Proxy Authentication in EM 12c Cloud Control

After upgrading from the 220.127.116.11 MOS Plugin, the connection to Self-Update or the setting of MOS credentials using Online Mode fails. Before the plugin upgrade however, this issue was not observed.
This only affects environments where EM 12c Cloud Control is configured to use a proxy server, which requires authentication.
A common error will be triggered in the emoms.trc file like :
Upgraded the MOSPlugin from either :
18.104.22.168 -> 22.214.171.124 -> 126.96.36.199
188.8.131.52 -> 184.108.40.206
220.127.116.11 -> 18.104.22.168
