Goal
This article will be useful for troubleshooting:
Metric alert for Database Instance "Tablespace Space Used (%)" in Enterprise Manager 12c
Sometimes it is necessary to simulate a metric alert in Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c, to check whether the metric alert condition is detected.
Sometimes this is necessary when testing with incident rules/email notification.
Sometimes it is necessary to ascertain whether there's a general problem with the agents subscription to the databases server generated alert system.
When testing alerts its useful to trigger a new alert, because for example, if new incident rules have been created, they will not trigger for an alert which is already active.
Note that this is *not* applicable to Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.4 and higher versions.
