How to check whether the Enterprise Manager Tablespace Space Used (%) metric is working as expected?  This article will be useful for troubleshooting:-

Metric alert for Database Instance "Tablespace Space Used (%)"  in Enterprise Manager 12c

Sometimes it is necessary to simulate a metric alert in Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c, to check whether the metric alert condition is detected.  Sometimes this is necessary when testing with incident rules/email notification, sometimes it is necessary to ascertain whether there's a general problem with the agents subscription to the databases server generated alert system.  When testing alerts its useful to trigger a new alert, because for example,  if new incident rules have been created, they will not fire for an alert which is already active.
