Last updated on AUGUST 19, 2022

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version 12.1.0.2.0 to 12.1.0.3.0 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In this use case description, the Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.2 Management Agent is deployed to report to the Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.2 Cloud Control console. Agent deployment uses the emcli utility from the OMS Oracle Home to obtain the agent install source. The agentDeploy.sh script from the resulting install stage on the target host is used to deploy the agent and direct it to the OMS. This method is suitable for single agent deployments only.

All required configuration parameters for this exercise will be passed when invoking the agentDeploy.sh script so no response file configuration is required.

All platforms are Enterprise Linux x86_64, but the sequence content of required actions will be relatively common for all platforms.

In any case, the authoritative source for information on this procedure is the following resource, available on OTN.
Note that while the use case is for version 12.1.0.2, the same procedure applies to versions 12.1.0.3, 12.1.0.4 and 12.1.0.5:

The authoritative information source for version 12.1.0.5 is the following:

Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Advanced Installation and Configuration Guide
12c Release 5
Chapter 6 Installing Oracle Management Agent in Silent Mode/
6.4 Installing a Management Agent in Silent Mode

Follow the instructions for the agentDeploy.sh method. Note that rpm-based agent deployment and Deployment using the Agent Pull method are also described.
