EM 12c: Deploying the Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Linux x86 Management Agent by Cloning and Existing Agent

(Doc ID 1602827.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 26, 2013

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version and later
Linux x86
Linux x86-64

In this use case description, the Linux x86 Enterprise Manager Management Agent is deployed to report to the Enterprise Manager Cloud Control console on Linux x86_64. Agent deployment uses an existing patched agent installation as a clone reference. The cloning operation from the EM console is used to deploy the agent. This method is suitable for multiple agent deployments where certain key configuration data is identical between target hosts.

All required configuration parameters for this exercise will be passed when invoking the agentDeploy.sh script so no response file configuration is required.

The Cloud Control OMS platform is Enterprise Linux x86_64, and the target host used for source and destination in the cloning operation are both Enterprise Linux x86 (32bit).
