Last updated on JANUARY 31, 2025

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version 12.1.0.1.0 and later
Enterprise Manager for Big Data Appliance - Version 12.1.0.2.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Purpose

This document explains how to Download/Deploy the latest Oracle Big Data Appliance(BDA) and Exadata Plug-in on Oracle Management Server(OMS) in Enterprise Manager(EM) Cloud Control 12c. Oracle Big Data Appliance plug-in is dependent on the Oracle Exadata plug-in for hardware monitoring. For this reason Exadata plug-in should be deployed on OMS Server.

If there is an existing 12.1.0.* release of Exadata Plug-in deployed on OMS then it would suffice. But recommendation is to deploy the latest Exadata Plug-in as well along with latest BDA Plug-in. Latest Exadata Plug-in needs latest Oracle Database Plug-in to be deployed on OMS prior to deploying Exadata Plug-in.

This document displays images where 12.1.0.3 being the latest BDA Plug-in and 12.1.0.5 being the latest Exadata Plug-in. But the same steps can be followed with any latest release of Database/Exadata/BDA plugins.

Note:- Deploying plug-in on the management servers causes downtime on the Enterprise Manager Cloud Control.  Schedule a downtime window to deploy the plugins
