Editing Job Definition In OEM Change Single Qoute To Two Single Qoute Casuing Job To Fail (Doc ID 1616250.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 15, 2018

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager for Oracle Database - Version 11.1.0.7 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Editing a job in DBConsole adds an extraneous set of quotes in the job definition.

This causes the job to fail.

Below is an example of what is occurring.

Login to 11.1.0.7 Database control
click on 'Server' link.
Click on 'Jobs' link available under 'oracle Scheduler'.
Create a job with definition which has single quotes.

For example:

begin
EXECUTE DBMS_STATS.GATHER_TABLE_STATS(ownname => 'testuser', tabname => 'testtable', method_opt => 'FOR ALL COLUMNS SIZE SKEWONLY', granularity => 'ALL', cascade => TRUE, degree => DBMS_STATS.DEFAULT_DEGREE);
end;

Now save this job. Edit the job and make some changes. For example, include a space and save it.

This adds additional single quotes as given below due to which this job would fail. For example:

begin
EXECUTE DBMS_STATS.GATHER_TABLE_STATS(ownname => ''testuser'', tabname => ''testtable'', method_opt => ''FOR ALL COLUMNS SIZE SKEWONLY'', granularity => ''ALL'', cascade => TRUE, degree => DBMS_STATS.DEFAULT_DEGREE);
end;
