Applies to:Enterprise Manager for Oracle Database - Version 126.96.36.199 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Enterprise Manager collects tablespace metric information from the MGMT$DB_DATAFILES & MGMT$DB_TABLESPACES views every 24 hours by default. This cycle may have been altered if a user is interested in seeing more request collections for this parameter. Changing the collection cycle back to every 24 hours to decrease system activity is described here.
Increasing the frequency of metric data collection and/or upload can impact the resources required to reliably monitor the enterprise with Enterprise Manager.
Oracle provides guidelines for resource application in its sizing guide. For EM 11g, see the following reference:

Chapter 9 Sizing Your Enterprise Manager Deployment
If symptoms of undersizing (for instance, periodic backups of uploads from agent to OMS or OMS to repository, or page display times extending or page access faults) are encountered, it may be time to consider application of additional resources to accommodate the increased transaction load.
