Enterprise Manager for Oracle Database - Version 12.1.0.1.0 to 12.1.0.5.0 [Release 12.1]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Purpose
Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control is a GUI tool capable of managing the Oracle database target in various different areas (for example, Backup & Recovery/Performance/Dataguard/Streams/Security etc). For example, it's possible to use Enterprise Manager to set up and manage dataguard, or carry out performance tuning without using any command line interface commands. It's also possible to configure Enterprise Manager to monitor the database. For example, to run jobs against the database or to send notification (email/snmp trap/os notification method) when the database/ listener target is down, or when certain database metrics cross their thresholds. In order to manage and monitor a database in Enterprise Manager in this way, certain things need to be setup. The purpose of this note is to gather available video resources, that can be used by a DBA who is just getting started with Enterprise Manager to simplify the process of setting up Enterprise Manager in order to monitor a database and to link to a series of videos that explain how Enterprise Manager can be used to manage specific database areas (eg. Performance/Tuning/Provisioning/Patching/Streams etc)
Scope
The purpose of this note is to collate a collection of videos that will be useful for a DBA in both setting up Enterprise Manager to monitor a database target, and in managing specific areas of the Oracle database.
