Last updated on NOVEMBER 22, 2019

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

SNMP Trap notification method has been configured in the Enterprise Manager Cloud Console to send SNMP Traps to a third party SNMP Console.
For details about the configuration steps, refer to:

<Note 1532325.1> - EM 12c, EM 13c : Steps to Configure SNMP Trap Notification Method to Send Traps to a Third Party SNMP Console

The SNMP Console processes the SNMP traps and uses the OID details to identify the event details in the Trap and generates Tickets based on these details.

For example:

08:00 : X tablespace reached 90 %. A Critical Event was created in the Console and an SNMP Trap was sent by the OMS to the SNMP Console.
09:00 : X tablespace usage dropped to 75%. A Clear event was created in the Console and a corresponding SNMP Trap was sent by the OMS to the SNMP Console.

Which OID in the SNMP Trap can be used to uniquely group both the above traps together? This will help in tracking and clearing the tickets created by the SNMP Console.
