EM 12c: Unexpected Error Occurred when Enabling the Response Metric in a Metric Collection (Doc ID 1681454.1)

Symptoms

Enabling a Response metric within a metric collection gives the following error:

Unexpected error occurred. Please contact Oracle Support with these files.

<EM_INSTANCE_BASE>/user_projects/domains/<domain_name>/servers/<SERVER_NAME>/logs/access.log
<EM_INSTANCE_BASE>/user_projects/domains/<domain_name>/servers/<SERVER_NAME>/logs/<SERVER_NAME>-diagnostic.log
<EM_INSTANCE_BASE>/em/<OMS_NAME>/sysman/log/emoms.trc

 

 Also, the .../gc_inst/em/EMGC_OMS1/sysman/log/emoms.trc file shows:
