Last updated on APRIL 26, 2017

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager for Fusion Middleware - Version 12.1.0.1.0 to 12.1.0.6.0
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Server State Metric is not working as expected for the Weblogic Targets.

As per the DOC :
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/em.121/e25158/wls.htm#autoId187

We can use the following as WARNING/CRITICAL :

"ACTIVATE_LATER"
"ADMIN"
"FAILED"
"FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE"
"FAILED_RESTARTING"
"FORCE_SHUTTING_DOWN"
"FORCE_SUSPENDING"
"RESUMING"
"RUNNING"
"SHUTDOWN"
"SHUTDOWN_IN_PROCESS"
"SHUTDOWN_PENDING"
"SHUTTING_DOWN"
"STANDBY"
"STARTING"
"SUSPENDING"
"UNKNOWN"

So if we use the "SHUTDOWN" as Critical threshold for the Weblogic_Server and
shutdown the Weblogic Server it shows as the metric value as RUNNING instead of SHUTDOWN.

Even though target is showing as down but the Server State Metric Shows as running in the following screen shot.
