Error "Invalid value for NAME in Target" during discovering Exadata (Doc ID 1684165.1)

Symptoms

Using EM 12.1.0.4.0 to discove the Exadata Database Machine and at the third step "prerequisite discovery" the following error occurs.

oracle.sysman.emSDK.emd.comm.commException: Invalid value for NAME in Target

From the emagent_perl.trc:

dbmDiscovery.pl: Wed Jun 18 12:27:05 2014: ERROR:  The node_desc file on IB switch with GUID <GUID> does not have the supported format: Mellanox 4036 # 4036-57F0. Please correct the node_desc file before proceeding with the discovery process. The node_desc file is located at /sys/class/infiniband/is4_0 on the IB switch. You can change the content of the node_desc file as root, e.g. "echo -n SUN DCS 36P QDR exa1sw-ib1.mydomain.com > node_desc" or "echo -n SUN IB QDR GW switch exa1sw-ib1.mydomain.com <IP> > node_desc"
