Internet Explorer 11 Returns "Unsupport Browser" Error And Hangs While Accessing Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control (Doc ID 1932963.1)

Applicable to Fusion Middleware Forms and Reports Version 11.1.2.2.0, this installType is based on 11.1.1.7 oracle_common components.

Symptoms

Accessing Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control (fmwc) login page http://hostname:7001/em  returns following error:

You are using an unsupported browser.  The supported browers
are Internet Explorer 7 and higher, Firefox 2.0.0.2 and higher,
Safari 3.1.2 and higher, and Google Chrome 1.0 or higher

                                                          OK 

Hit "OK" in the error popup to continue and the fmwc page hangs on "Loading" icon, the login page is not displayed.


If browser extension development tools such as DebugBar is installed you may see error popup similar to below.

 Hitting "Close" to continue will end up with the same fmwc page hanging on "Loading" icon

Changes

Error is only reproduced with IE version 11.

Issue does not reproduce with Firefox, Chrome or earlier versions of IE.
