Having the out-of-box rulesets enabled can create lots of incidents depending on the events that are raised in the setup. If you need to use the out-of-box rules, as a best practice, it is recommended that you create your own copies of out-of-box rule sets, review and customise the options as per your requirement and then subscribe to the rule set copies rather than subscribing directly to the out-of-box rule sets. Or create new incident rulesets and configure them as per your requirement.

This document provides the steps to configuring a new Incident Rule to send notifications when a target is marked as UP or DOWN in the Console.

The steps can be used for any target.
