Purpose
This document provides instructions to setup disk monitoring in Enterprise Manager(EM) UI for Oracle Big Data Applinace(BDA).
The default 'Disk Device Errors' metric is specific to Solaris targets and not Linux targets thus doesn't work for BDA targets
There are 2 options to monitor disk failures for both CDH and NoSQL Clusters on BDA.
a) Define a custom metric extension
OR
b) Edit metric call log file monitoring
This document provides details about setting up custom metric extension on a host target type and creating an incident ruleset based on the custom metric extension created.
Instructions provided in this documents are just to provide an overview of how Disk Monitoring of BDA Hosts can be enabled thru EM.
