EM 12c: Tablespace Monitoring is no Longer Working after Upgrading the Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Agent To 12.1.0.4.0 (Doc ID 1958376.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 13, 2015

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager for Oracle Database - Version 11.2.0.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After upgrading the Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Agent to 12.1.0.4, the tablespaces associated with 11,2.0.4 target databases using ASM are no longer being monitored accurately. Alerts are being triggered without consideration of the autoextend attribute.

The following queries should reasonably match, but do not:

QUERY1
Select tablespace_name, used_space, tablespace_size, used_percent
from sys.dba_tablespace_usage_metrics
where tablespace_name='TS1';
96.70

QUERY2
SELECT d.tablespace_name,
    round(((a.bytes - NVL(f.bytes,0))*100/a.maxbytes),2) used_pct
FROM   sys.dba_tablespaces d,
     (select tablespace_name, sum(bytes) bytes, sum(greatest(maxbytes,bytes)) maxbytes
        from sys.dba_data_files group by tablespace_name) a,
     (select tablespace_name, sum(bytes) bytes
        from sys.dba_free_space group by tablespace_name) f
WHERE d.tablespace_name = a.tablespace_name(+)
AND d.tablespace_name = f.tablespace_name(+)
AND NOT (d.extent_management = 'LOCAL' AND d.contents = 'TEMPORARY')
and d.tablespace_name='TS1';
