Purpose

The siteguard_netapp_control.sh script is intended to be used with Oracle Site Guard.  The script executes as part of a Oracle Site Guard operation plan and handles disaster recovery operations (for example, a switchover or failover) for NetApp storage appliance nodes when they are deployed as part of a larger enterprise site which is being protected by Oracle Site Guard.   This support note describes how to integrate and use this script when orchestrating disaster recovery operations using Oracle Site Guard.

This script executes on a server that is part of the standby site or is configured as an auxiliary host in Oracle Site Guard. The script communicates with a standby NetApp storage appliance to orchestrate the takeover or giveback of NetApp storage shares at an appropriate phase in the disaster recovery process.  The user can configure this script to execute at any chosen point in the disaster recovery workflow.
