EM 12c: REST payload is not Correct for DBCA based Service Templates in Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control Database Provisioning (Doc ID 2051987.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 09, 2015

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager for Cloud - Version 12.1.0.9.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

During a DB Provisioning, a REST get call (to /em/cloud/dbaas/dbplatforminstance/byrequest/xxx) is made, and the payload returned is something like:

 {
 "uri": "/em/cloud/dbaas/dbplatforminstance/byrequest/xxx",
 "name": "Demo of Single Instance JCDON4_CREATE_9_36#xxx",
 "description": "DESCRITION_NOT_AVAILABLE_VIEW",
 "resource_state": {
 "state": "CREATING"
 },
 "context_id": "xxx",
 "media_type": "application/oracle.com.cloud.common.DbPlatformInstance+json",
 "canonicalLink":
 "/em/websvcs/restful/extws/cloudservices/service/v0/ssa/em/cloud/dbaas/dbplatforminstance/byrequest/xxx",
 "status": "IN_PROGRESS",
 "created": "2015-05-26 15:09:39"
 }

After the Database Provisioning is complete, in certain cases the payload returned has neither status nor uri.

When the provisioning is complete it returns a payload like this:

 {
 "messages": [
 {
 "hint": "null",
 "stack_messages": [
 "Abnormal Resource Access Condition for 'GET' interaction with request URI '/em/cloud/dbaas/dbplatforminstance/byrequest/xxx'"
 ],
 "date": "2015-05-26T16:10:45+0000",
 "text": "Abnormal Resource Access Condition for 'GET' interaction with
request URI '/em/cloud/dbaas/dbplatforminstance/byrequest/xxx'"
 }
 ]
 }

The above is incorrect as it should return the status expanded to include values for parameters like the url, connect string, etc.
