Last updated on OCTOBER 16, 2015

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager for Oracle Database - Version 12.1.0.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

OMS 12.1.0.4.3
Agent 12.1.0.4.0
Database Plug-in 12.1.0.6.0

Provisioning a 11.2.0.3 Grid Infrastructure to a NON-RAC single instance database with an Oracle Restart configuration hangs during the ASM Configuration step.

During provisioning the asm diskString is not being set to the proper value.

Example:

   asm disk string =/dev/*

which  should be

   /dev/rPOC

The logs in cfgtoollogs related to asmca shows that deployment is hanging on the query:

'select count(*) from v$ASM_DISKGROUP where name=upper('DATA')'
