Internal Error configuring Recovery Catalog in 12c Cloud Control

In 12c Cloud Control, when Trying to set Recovery catalog settings for a database target:
DB -> Availability -> Backup & Recovery -> Settings for recovery catalog -> add recovery catalog
After entering all relevant data for the connection and clicking next, the following error occurs:
"Internal Error has occurred. Check the log file for details"
