How to Fine Tune Database Statistics Calculation for the RUEI Repository (Doc ID 2090050.1)

Goal

Real User Experience Insight (RUEI) sometimes makes use of the Oracle Database in such a way where the table statistics framework, designed to optimize SQL performance, is actually causing congestion in the database.
This document provides some tuning that can be done to the statistics framework to prevent this.

An example scenario may be that the RUEI Event log reports:

Internal error(Message 1(24909): ORA-24909: call in progress. Current operation cancelled).


At the same time, the AWR report of that time-frame reports the following SQL as the top consumer:

call dbms_stats.gather_database_stats_job_proc ( )
