EM 12c: Patching the Agent through Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.5 Cloud Control Results in the Following Message: EMD runCollection error: oracle_home_config:HomeInfo:panic: realloc from wrong pool (Doc ID 2097894.1)

Symptoms

Patching the 12.1.0.5 Agent through Enterprise Manager (EM) 12.1.0.5 Cloud Control results in the following error:

The following exception has occurred:
panic: realloc from wrong pool at /apps/oracle/product/agent12c/core/12.1.0.5.0/perl/lib/site_perl/5.10.0/sun4-solaris-thread-multi-64/DBD/Oracle.pm line 79.
END failed--call queue aborted at /apps/oracle/product/agent12c/plugins/oracle.sysman.oh.agent.plugin_12.1.0.5.0/scripts/OHConfigCollector.pl line 327.
em_result=/apps/oracle/product/agent12c/core/12.1.0.5.0|agent12c2|1077547205#.#1138057775|O|/apps/oracle/oraInventory|Y|N|23|453||RW||200|oracle|13|dba|13|dba
panic: free from wrong pool at /apps/oracle/product/agent12c/plugins/oracle.sysman.oh.agent.plugin_12.1.0.5.0/scripts/OHConfigCollector.pl line 327 during global destruction.

 

Subsequently, the patch can be applied manually on the EM Agent host with opatch, but refreshing the EM Agent target in Enterprise Manger (EM) 12c Cloud Control results in a metric collection error (MCE) status.

 

 

Forcing the EM Agent to run a data collection cycle results in a similar error:
