EM 12c: Agent Status Fails With "Status agent Failure:unable to connect to http server at <agent_url> [failed to match hostname host1 with certificate DN CN=host2]' (Doc ID 2125236.1)

Symptoms

12c agent start fails with following error:

<AGENT_INST_HOME>/bin>./emctl start agent
Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 5
Copyright (c) 1996, 2015 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
Agent status could not be determined. Check the agent process
Consult emctl.log and emagent.nohup in: /opt/ora11g/product/agent12/agent_inst/sysman/log

Checking the agent Status shows following error:

<AGENT_INST_HOME>/bin>./emctl status agent

Status agent Failure:unable to connect to http server at https://agenthost.domain.com:1830/emd/lifecycle/main/. [failed to match hostname agenthost.domain.com with

The hostnames shown in the error message are different hostnames.

The hostnames shown in the error are the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) and the short hostname.
