Instance Does Not Start On Oracle RAC Backup Job With Database In NOARCHIVELOG Mode (Doc ID 2153167.1)

Symptoms

Scheduling  Rman Backup jobs on two node Rac database  which is in NOARCHIVELOG mode through EM.
Since the Database is in NO ARchivelog mod rman shutdown database and runs normally.
After backup finish , only one instance opens, that ran the job. The instance of another node does not start automatically  after backup completes.


Navigation path :
Cluster Database Home page -> Availability -> Backup and Recovery -> Schedule backup -> Schedule Oracle Suggested backup -> Check Disk -> next -> next -> set the time -> sbmmit

 
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
The two instances start after backup ends.

WORKAROUND
-------------------
Run OS COmmand jon to execute the following script:

srvctl start database -d sefdwhom -o mount

${ORACLE_HOME}/bin/rman <<EOF
connect target /
connect catalog catdbprod/******@XE
backup database;
DELETE NOPROMPT OBSOLETE;
EOF
srvctl stop database -d sefdwhom
srvctl start database -d sefdwhom
srvctl status database -d sefdwhom
TODAY=$(date)
echo "-----------------------------------------------------"
echo "Date: $TODAY"                    
echo "-----------------------------------------------------"
