EM 13cR1: Error While Executing detachHome Post Upgrade Task for Deleting Old 12c OMS Home (Doc ID 2156158.1)

Trying to remove the old OMS homes after an upgrade from to EM 13c as per

Appendix D - Deleting the Old OMS Home, step 2a, section D.2 Deleting the Old OMS Home When the Central Agent Is Migrated to a Location Outside the Old

Middleware Home, in the Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Online Documentation Library, Release 13.1 Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Upgrade Guide available here which states:

If you have already migrated the central agent to a location outside the old middleware home, then you can directly remove the old OMS, or in other words the old middleware home. To do so, follow these steps:

Detach the old OMS home.

<OLD_OMS_HOME>/oms/oui/bin/runInstaller -detachHome -force -allDepHomes -silent ORACLE_HOME=<OLD_OMS_HOME> -waitForCompletion -invPtrLoc <OMS_HOME>/oraInst.loc

Detach the Oracle common directory.

<OLD_OMS_HOME>/oui/bin/runInstaller -detachHome -force -allDepHomes -silent ORACLE_HOME=<OLD_MW_HOME>/oracle_common -waitForCompletion -invPtrLoc <OLD_MW_HOME>/oraInst.loc

Check whether any processes are running from the old middleware home.

ps -ef | grep <OLD_MW_HOME>

If no processes are running, delete the old OMS home.

rm -rf <OLD_OMS_HOME>
