Symptoms

Enterprise Manager (EM) 13c Cloud Control monitors database targets.

If the alert log metrics for the ASM and database are re-enabled the following error occurs as logged in .../agent_inst/sysman/log/gcagent.log:

2016-02-18 13:17:11,059 [117005:GC.Executor.60911 (has:has_host.domain:CRSAlert11gR2)] ERROR - Critical error:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at oracle.sysman.gcagent.state.StateMgr.upsertStateEntry(StateMgr.java:1086)
at oracle.sysman.gcagent.state.StateMgr.upsertStateEntry(StateMgr.java:1053)
