Symptoms
Standby database is being created from EM and the job fails at the "Duplicate Database" step with the below error:
sql statement: alter system archive log current contents of Memory Script: { switch clone datafile all; } executing Memory Script RMAN-00571: =========================================================== RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS =============== RMAN-00571: =========================================================== RMAN-03002: failure of Duplicate Db command at 08/01/2016 08:47:55 RMAN-03015: error occurred in stored script Memory Script RMAN-06136: ORACLE error from auxiliary database: ORA-03135: connection lost contact Process ID: 56142 Session ID: 424 Serial number: 9 RMAN> EXIT; Recovery Manager complete.
Rest of the steps in the job complete successfully.
The errors occur when creating a standby database for a large database. Standby creation for a small database completes fine without any errors.
