Symptoms

Enterprise Manager (EM) 13.1.0.0.0 Cloud Control on Linux

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server configuration results in the following error:

smtp.mycompany.<DOMAIN_NAME>:25: Test failed with message: "4.3.2.1 Client was not authenticated " [SMTP Server: smtp.mycompany.<DOMAIN_NAME>:25, User name: null, Secure Connection: No].

To reproduce, set Up a Mail Server for Notifications as follows:

1. Login to console
2. Click on "Setup"
3. Go to "Notifications"
4. Select "Mail Servers"
5. Under "Outgoing Mail Servers", Click on "Add"
6. Fill the pop-up window. Fill the Host, port, username, password,
confirm password fields. Select "Use Secure Connection" as "No"
7. Click on "ok"
8. Click on "Test Mail Server".
