Last updated on AUGUST 08, 2023

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After updating Forms and Reports 11.1.2.2 with Java 7 update 131 or higher versions, Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control (EM FMWc) is showing OHS as being down when OPMN has it up.

This will also happen on any 11.1.1.7-based environment where Java 7 update 131+, Java 6 update 141+, or JRockit R28.3.13 (JDK160_141) has been applied.

EM FMWc

From EM FMWc the issue will look like the following while OPMN shows Alive.

OPMN

The OPMN logs will show the following error (ORACLE_INSTANCE/diagnostics/logs/OPMN/opmn/opmn.log):

Has been stated that the error can be seen at 3 minute intervals.

DMS Spy

Non-J2EE Metrics can be found missing from the DMS Spy application(eg http://AdminServer.Host:Port/dms) as in the below picture.

Changes

The WLS JDK has been updated to use newer Java version(Java 7 update 131+, Java 6 update 141+, or JRockit R28.3.13+ (JDK160_141)). The Adminserver/FMWc/JDK is acting as the Client in this scenario communicating with OPMN, the Server.
