Applying a patch for an Oracle Home using the Enterprise Manager (EM) 12c Cloud Control Provisioning and Patching feature fails at credentials check with the following scren message:

Error occurred while checking the normal Oracle Home credentials. Failed to launch process: Auth fail


Also, a Preferred Credentials test fails with this a=screen error:

Failed to launch process: Auth fail
