Fusion Middleware Control: There are no Metadata Repository - Exception on RepositoryPartitionsModel.getPartitions

Symptoms

Go to the Fusion Middleware Control > Expand the Metadata Repositories > Click on the mds-CustomPortalDS (or some other repository).

The Repository Partitions section on the right hand side will be empty and there will be a popup with an exception:

This has happened after an application undeployment.
Somehow, the application got undeployed, but the exception still references the undeployed application.
