EM 13c : AWR Snapshots are not Purged Automatically after the defined Retention Period in AWR Warehouse Repository

Symptoms
EM setup was upgraded from 12c to 13.2 release. The AWR warehouse had already been configured in the 12c EM setup prior to the upgrade itself.
The retention period was set to 1 year and it was noticed that the older snapshots are not being purged even after the configured retention period.
This is causing the disk space usage to increase as the older snapshots are still retained.
- Output of the below query in the AWR warehouse database reports no rows:
select owner,job_name,job_action, start_date, repeat_interval, comments from dba_scheduler_jobs
where job_name like '%CAW_DELETE%';
