$AOM_HOME/logs/emsctl.err file reports the following error:

[SEVERE]:17-08-2017 11:36:38: Thread[main,5,main]:Thread[main,5,main]:Error executing set_ems_repos_conn
java.lang.RuntimeException: Unexpected input argument, connect_string=hostname:1521/dbserv
