EM 12c: Target Displays Agent Unreachable Status in Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control although it is Running (Doc ID 2349158.1)

Symptoms

Enterprise Manager (EM) 12.1.0.2 Cloud Control 

This can be applicable to all target types (ASM/db/wls e.t.c)

An ASM target shows in Agent Unreachable status in EM 12.1.0.2 Cloud Control, although it is running and should show a status of Up (green arrow):



 

Current status of the EM 12c Agent is "Agent is Not Running":

/u01/app/oracle/product/agent/core/12.1.0.2.0/bin/emctl status agent

EM 12c.1.0.2 Agent start responds with "port conflict on port(3872)":

/u01/app/oracle/product/agent/core/12.1.0.2.0/bin/emctl start agent

Starting agent ........ failed.
HTTP Listener failed at Startup
Possible port conflict on port(3872): Retrying the operation...
Failed to start the agent after 1 attempts. Please check that the port(3872) is available.
Consult emctl.log and emagent.nohup in: /u01/app/oracle/product/agent/agent_inst/sysman/log
You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/oracle
