EM 13c: Results from Enterprise Manager 13c Cloud Control Search Sessions (Search for SID) shows one Result for a CLuster Database (Doc ID 2349702.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 30, 2022

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager for Oracle Database - Version 13.2.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Enterprise Manager (EM) 13.2 Cloud Control

Navigate: Targets > Databases > [select Cluster Database target link] > [expand Performance drop down menu] > Search Sessions > Specify Search Criteria > [select Filter=SID, provide SID name]

The search displays only one result in the search for SID from a cluster database.

If you have processes running on two different instances of the RAC database, with the same SID, the search for SID will display the result from one instance only. The result does not display both of the processes as you would assume.

However, if you check the same thing using SQL*Plus, connect to the cluster database and querying gv$session, it returns the correct values.

For example:

1* select inst_id, sid, serial#, process, status from gv$session order by 2 desc
SQL> /
INST_ID SID SERIAL# PROCESS STATUS

2 2004 38024 7444 ACTIVE
2 2000 21760 21839 ACTIVE
2 1997 50444 6004 INACTIVE
2 1996 54457 3284 ACTIVE
1 1996 5708 26129 ACTIVE

This query returns SID# 1996 running on instances 1 and 2, but in EM 13.2 Cloud Control, it displays only one instance.
