EM12c, EM13c : Database discover fails if listener.ora has specific format (Doc ID 2372510.1)

In Enterprise Manager (EM) Cloud Control, trying to discover the database instance target fails with following error:

<HOSTNAME> : <Location>/listener.ora- Config File <Location>/listener.ora has invalid entries.

If the listener.ora has the following format the database is not discovered and no errors are reported in log files.

(description =
(address=(protocol=tcp)(host=<HOSTNAME>)(port=<PORT>))
)
