EM13c: Emcli Modify_threshold Causes Reset Of "corrective Actions" Settings (Doc ID 2413739.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 12, 2019

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager for Oracle Database - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Corrective actions have been configured for a Target metric in the EM Cloud Control setup.
With the usage the emcli modify_threshold verb to change the threshold setting for the metric, the thresholds are changed but the corrective actions settings will be deleted.

For example: Consider the following use case:

1) For USERS tablespace of ORCL target database, there is a Corrective Action setup to extend the tablespace by 10MB if critical threshold is crossed.
2) Modify the thresholds for USERS tablespace, using emcli:

$./emcli modify_threshold -target_name=<DB Target Name as in Console> -target_type=oracle_database -metric="problemTbsp" -column="bytesFree" -key_columns="USERS;" -warning_threshold=55000 -critical_threshold=45004
Threshold modified successfully

3) Login to the console and verify that the corrective Actions for USERS tablespace is deleted.

Note: This can occur for any target and metric combination and not restricted to DB targets.
